Meet the Attorneys

Attorney
Charlie Guffey
Charlie Guffey is a native of Fentress County, Tennessee. Early on, she had an interest in the legal field and began working for a hometown law firm while in high school. After high school, she attended Tennessee Technological University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. Charlie earned her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law and became a member of the Tennessee Bar in 2019. In 2020, Charlie founded Guffey Law, PLLC, opening offices in both Jamestown, Tennessee and Cookeville, Tennessee that same year. In 2022, Charlie was appointed as the Municipal Judge for the City of Jamestown, Tennessee, where she actively continues to serve in that role today. She was admitted to practice law in the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Tennessee and the Middle District of Tennessee in 2025. Before becoming an attorney, Charlie spent many years working in the legal community learning from some of the best and brightest throughout East and Middle Tennessee. Her education and experience give her the knowledge necessary to provide her clients with exceptional legal counsel.

Christina Rice
Christina Rice is a native of Putnam County, Tennessee. She attended Tennessee Technological University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012. She earned her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law in 2024. Christina became a member of the Tennessee Bar in 2024 and was admitted to practice law in the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Tennessee and the Middle District of Tennessee in 2025. During law school, Christina spent three years working under and learning from some of Putnam County’s most seasoned attorneys. Christina has been a member of the Guffey Law Team since 2024. In addition to being an attorney at Guffey Law, Christina is the mother of three beautiful and bright children.

Office Manager
Kaitlyn West
Kaitlyn S. West is a native of Cumberland County, Tennessee. She began her career in the customer service industry which helped establish a strong foundation focused on client needs. In 2015, Kaitlyn transitioned her career to the Real Estate Title & Closing Industry bringing those same great customer service skills with her. Over the course of these ten years, she has received extensive education and training from some of the top underwriting companies in the industry. Kaitlyn has been a Tennessee Notary Public since 2016. In 2020, Kaitlyn was the first employee to be employed by Guffey Law making her a founding figure of the business and earning her the titles of Real Estate Director & Office Manager. Kaitlyn has worked alongside Owner, Charlie Guffey, Esq. since 2019. In addition to being a founding figure at Guffey Law, Kaitlyn is a wife, a mother to two wonderful children and, additionally, a bonus mom to two more wonderful children.

Paralegal
Brandie Lien-Hearn
Brandie Lien-Hearn is a native of Shasta County, California. She graduated as Valedictorian from Anderson New Technology High School in 2018. While in high school, she interned at the Shasta District Attorney's Office and participated in the Youth Violence Prevention Council, where she got the opportunity to observe trials involving juveniles. Brandie received two Associate Degrees in 2020; one being an Associate of Science in General Studies from Shasta College, and the other being an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Santa Barbara City College. Brandie received her Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University in 2022. In 2023, Brandie and her then fiancé, moved to Tennessee. Once in Tennessee, Brandie enrolled in a Paralegal Program through Volunteer State Community College. She received her Certificate of Paralegal Studies from Volunteer State Community College and became a Tennessee Notary Public in 2023. She joined Guffey Law in 2023, and she currently holds the title of Paralegal. In addition to being a Paralegal at Guffey Law, she also is newly married.

Real Estate Processor
Linsey Tompkins
Linsey Tompkins is a native of Fentress County, Tennessee. She graduated as Salutatorian from Alvin C. York Institute in 2023. Linsey received her Certificate of Paralegal Studies from the University of Tennessee in 2023, while she was still enrolled in high school. She is currently enrolled at Tennessee Technological University, where she is anticipated to graduate with her Bachelor of Arts in 2026. After she has received her Bachelor’s Degree, she plans to attend law school. Linsey began her career with Guffey Law in 2022 as an Intern. Throughout her employment at Guffey Law, she has carried various titles which have most recently led her to receive the title of Real Estate Processor.

Real Estate Assistant
Selena Burns
Selena Burns is a native of Peoria County, Illinois. She obtained her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Illinois Central College in 2011. Selena, also, received her Associates of Art & Science from Illinois Central College in 2004. While in Illinois, Selena worked as an Office Manager for a surveying company for over five years, and then, as a Paralegal for over five years. In 2016, she and her family moved to Tennessee. Selena joined Guffey Law as a Real Estate Assistant in 2022. In addition to being a Real Estate Assistant at Guffey Law, she is a wife and mother of two precious children.

Administrative Coordinator
Miranda Farmer
Miranda Farmer is a native of Bastrop County, Texas. She earned her Certificate of Paralegal Studies from the University of Texas in 2012. Before starting her career in the legal field, Miranda held various positions in which she earned Certifications in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Website Development, Quickbooks, and Oracle/Netsuite. In her previous roles, she, also, gained more than a decade of knowledge and experience in Marketing, Tradeshows, and Global Sales. Miranda brings a strong background in Customer Service and Operations which makes her a great fit as Administrative Coordinator for Guffey Law. Miranda moved to Tennessee and joined Guffey Law in 2024. In addition to being the Administrative Coordinator at Guffey Law, she is the mother of two younger adults that are currently pursuing their education and future careers.
